| Is my Yellow Lab a Hybrid? Well, im actually ashamed i let this happen to me, but i did not do great research on my yellow labs before i got them. I mean i did everything as far as care goes, and also compatibility, but i did'nt read about hybrids until i got them.
They are still young, only about 2 inches, and two of them have the black stripes on there top fins, one only slightly has it, it is very light, will this grow in? Or was i sold a hybrid yellow lab? |

| Looks like an ordinary yellow lab to me, but normally they normally have a dark coloured dorsal fin.
How big is your lab? |

| Thanks mate, yeah there awesome, after staring for a while i realized he has about half of the stripe then it fades, could be coming in because he is still young... i hope that is the case or the fishstore is getting a piece of my mind, haha |

| It actually might not be a hybrid or a yellow lab. I am thinking psuedo saulsi (sp) |

| I also think it a P. saulosi
Have to ask though, what else is in the tank, as it look like you have an Angelfish in there with it Hope I'm mistaken though. |

| ^ you both just got me very nervous, so your saying it might not be a lab at all? Thats not good...
And yes that is an angel, but the angels and swordtail are coming out by next week |

| Its not shaped like a lab, and the black line on the dorsal should be more prominant. Can you exchange him? I think that D and Angela are right. |

| Ok so normally i would agree with you guys, but i just did some picture comparing of the juvenilles from both species, and the only repetative difference i could find was their bottom (dorsal?) fin. On the salousi is all yellow, but on the young labs it is mostly white with a bit of black. On my unknown fish they said fins are all white with no yellow whatsoever, this could just be wishful thinking on my part, but im not convinced enough to return them, but i am fairly sure that two of them are males if they are indeed salousi, and if they begin to turn Grey (Reaching sexual maturity) i will return them immediately and exchange for labs, i would return now but honestly there too young for me to be sure. |
