She lost most of her color and was almost brown. The other fish were harrassing her and she started swimming upside down. Now she it seperated in her own small tank but she cant seem to keep herself floating right. This is her second time holding and this is by far the worse she has been. Im not sure she will make it through the night. I treated her with melafix. I guess holding takes it toll on them.

what does holding mean? constipated? sorry, just never heard of holding before.

Some cichlids hold the eggs in their mouths and spit them out when they are free swimmers. So they dont eat the whole time they have them in their mouth. It really taxes them.

She died today and didnt find any fry . Maybe she swalled them but im fairly sure she was holding because she had stopped eating. But would come up when i fed the others just like last time she was holding.
