I have three yellows in my tank. Two are smaller (I believe one female and one subdominant male) and they are passive and fine with the other fish. The larger one, I'm almost certain he is a male - good markings, only bothers the other two yellows; that is, when he isn't hiding.
Over all, I think they are just fine and think that generally are good with other fish. See my next paragraph to an exception to what I just said. In my tank are 6 rosy barbs, 2 cherry barbs, a green spotted puffer, and a blue crayfish.
There largest of the yellow has not acclimated to my tank well. I am going to add a couple more hiding spots, but if that doesn't ease things up I will be removing him from my tank soon. He is almost always showing signs of stress and just isn't happy in my tank. I don't have anyone to take him, so I'll probably have to get a small tank or take him to the fish store. I know there is a good possibility that the cray is causing some of the stress, but the cray really doesn't chase or bother any of my other fish.
