Need to identify this small worm/eel in my tank!

Found a small worm/eel in my tank this evening. Have noooo idea what it is. Have 15lbs of live rock, obviously a hitch-hiker of some kind?

Description: Flesh colored, 1/2" long, tubular in shape with tiny little mohawk hairs down the middle-top of the body, similar looking to larvae with black spot where head should be. Frantic swimmer, like a chicken with it's head cut off; running into substrate over and over, then rocks over and over, then around and around the tank. Came out of no-where! Never seen it before.

Kind of gives me the willies! Don't know if it's a worm, or what the heck it is! I just looked a little while ago and I didn't see it. Maybe it found a hole to hide in? HELP ME!!!

Try this link:

Go down about two thirds where the author lists various worms - there are links to pictures and descriptions.

I would tend to agree really does sound like a brittle worm. There really good scavenger and are good for a tank. Quick warning there brittle (there little hair on there back) will cause inflamtion so handle them with care. But other wise there harmless and will eat all the leftover food from your tank. One of the GREAT hitch-hiker you can get!! congrat on that!!
