Do u have any females for him??
I think that they should be kept in pairs of one male and one female rly.. however i have found this quite problematic. I bought my pair about 10months ago and within a few days my female was so stressed out from all the attention she was recieving from the male she died. I tried again and once again like clockwork: the new one died after a few weeks. I spoke to my
LFS and they have given me 3 females now as my male was soooo depressed without them he did nothing, a few times i thought he had actually died.
But as soon as i put these 3 girlys in the tank he was swimming around them like he was on redbull or something and coz there are 3 of them they get all his attention shared so its not too 'full on' and stressfull for them.
Maybe u could try this, depends how big your tank is.. mind mines not huge and it works fine
