the waters a but cloudy as i just re organized everything to put in som real plants..aswell as the center "rock".. Last edited by jarrod; October 8th, 2009 at 04:20 PM.

| | Fish Addict | I don't have DGs (yet ), but I was researching having a pair of DG's. Most people suggest either keeping 2 or more females to every male, or providing a lot of hiding spots for the female. This allows the female to get away and rest from all the male's attention.
Your tank and DG looks nice! |

| | Moderator | in a 10 gal tank, 2 dgs, even a m/f combo, is probably going to end up with one always being bullied...in less than 20 gals, its a huge risk....they are very territorial and should have a ton of hiding spots..so watch them closely...your snail probably hitched a ride on your new plant more than you new fish
ray ive never heard that ..thats a first for me |

| | Fish Keeper | I agree with shawnie. Even a 20 would be a gamble IMO.
I have heard of keeping multiple females to one male, but neither I nor anyone I know can even find one female DG, let alone 2 or 3. SO, I've never tested that theory. |

| | Fish Addict | Shawnie, I hadn't really heard much about it either until I had reason to google it! I found a place online that had females, so I was curious if it could work in my 29gal. The tank seemed too small for 2 or3 DGs, so I think I'll keep just one.
Glad to hear yours are working out, jarrod. |

| | Fish Bum | well no problems as of yet.. might be upgrading to a 33 gal soon(for sale locally with a angel fish, 2 rainbows and a tetra.. and askin 90$ for it all)
and now ive got 2 snails.. but not shure which ones they are.. longer pointed shell, looks like it been twisted into a cone shape..
if i get the bigger tank, can i add the dg and the long fin tetras, in with the angel fish?? |

| | Fish Keeper | Malysian trumpet snails - MTS - are livebearing snails that reproduce on their own. I've purposely introduced them into all of my tanks because they do provide many benefits, but if you are not strict in your feeding habbits, they can over run your tank. It's not bad for the tank, just an eyesore for you to have snails climbing on everything.
Once you have them, you've got them, so if you don't want them you should have removed them yesterday Last edited by Jaysee; October 27th, 2009 at 10:16 AM.
