Why????

Hi, i currently have 2 dwarf Gouramis in my tank. i have a blue one and an orange one. the blue one deosnt look well and the orange one keeps chasing it and looks as though it is nipping my blue one. i also have 2 yo yo loaches and one of them keeps (it seems to me that it's eating it??) near it's left fin. i am going to be uploading some pics of my blue one in a minute, but is there any reason as to why the orange one is chasing the blue one

Two males cannot be housed together. They have the same personality as bettas.

I had 2 in a 55, one killed the other eventually. The only time it's okay to house 2 males together is in a LARGE planted tank.

Ouch. Can you QT him?? He needs to be QT'd by himself to heal. Moving him to a different tank permenantly would be best, IMO.

I would say 5 gal. MIN with 10 gal. being preferred.

You can take some established media from your larger tank to "instant cycle" the QT.

Bump, I have the same exact situation in my tank. They are together for about 3 weeks now, generally they ignore each other and if they get close the blue you usually establishes dominance and the oter skits away. I'm reading everything (dang LFS, could you one time help me out!!!) and thinking I have to return one but is there ever been a successful two male DG pair? Would adding a female help? Its a 55 gal tank

Hi breese welcome to FishLore
Please don't hi-jack or bump up old threads.
The original situation has probably been resolved and you'll most likely get more responses starting your own thread.

Thanks
