Dropsy?

umm I have a red flame gourami he's really bloated and just kinda laying around and not moving at all stays at bottom of tank or at top in the corners. he bloated up like this before and it cleared up and was find for a month but now it looks like its back. I just cleaned the tank it got away from me a little i didn't have time to clean it could this have been the problem. his fins don't appear to be sticking out just really fat so I'm hesitating on medicating him for dropsy cus im not sure if that's it. he is eating. please help he's one of my favorites. i got him and another together guess they are brothers and my other one I've never had a problem with.

What are your parameters? Could you simply be overfeeding him? Maybe its a she-fish, and she's preggo. I doubt that though.

I believe Gouramis can get constipated a lot like bettas do. Maybe this could be another reason?

Sorry about your fishie...

It's hard to tell, really. I don't know to much about constipation in fish, but that looks like dropsy to me. Make sure your water parameters are at the right levels, and do a water change. I would suggest moving your fish to your Q tank if you haven't already. Try to disturb it the least as possible, and see how it fares.
Keep us posted and I hope your fishie gets better!

It's kind of hard to tell but he doesn't look pineconed.
Is he pooing?

I agree moving him to a Q tank is a good idea. Try feeding him a couple bits of thawed frozed shelled pea about the size of his eye or a little freeze dried daphnia (found in the reptile section).
Then fast him for a couple days.

Good luck, I hope he feels better soon.
