Its more of a 'what do I do' that a 'how do I' but anyway... Last week I wrote about our dwarf gourami's aggressive behaviour... I haven't yet taken him out of tank as he seemed to settle down and the female was less intimidated, so I thought I'd watch a little more before acting... now he's made a bubble nest, its really interesting watching him make it, but what do I do? I'm watching him for aggressive behaviour, he seems protective around his nest, but seems too pre-occupied with building to be aggressive...

hes showing off his fish muscles to the fem LOL .....so either he will be very agressive and try to get her to mate, or start his testosterone dance to entice her ...either way just keep an eye out

they will build them with or without females in the tank and also defend them. i kept cleaning them out when my dwarf would build them but he must have rebuilt it 20 times. i would just let him have his way with the nest. mine seemed to settle down when he was done building it anyways.

that bubble nest is his way of saying: "hi beautiful "
they will always be protective around them... but it isnt that bad, they will either mate, or hate each other...

Thanks for the info, he is still at it bless him! Now he seems to be wafting small bubbles around it and is being much nice to the female. I will keep an eye on him though, just in case of trouble...
