traumatized Guarami?

I have had my tank set up for about a year now and 1 of my Dwarf Guarami's accidentally jumped out of my tank during a feeding. Well, I didn't notice it till my cat discovered his loose lil brother and I picked him up and put him back in the tank. Since then, he hides in this 1 lil spot near the bottom/rear corner of the tank.
No new fish have been added, so he's been socialized with the rest of his fishy brother's and sisters.
Could he be traumatized from his experience and too afraid to join the rest of his fish family?
Thanx for reading,
~J~

Hello MrsJcc...
Poor lil d.gourami... he must really be traumatized from his experience, let alone from jumping out of the tank, but meeting up face to face with mr. cat! How long was he out of the tank? If it was only a few moments, Im hoping that he will be ok. Unless he suffered some damage from the fall or the cat. I would add some type of stress coat to the water, like a fish protector product to help with any slime coat loss he may have suffered while being out of the tank and laying on the floor. Other than that, if he appears to be ok with no physical damage that you can see, Im betting he is just totally scared by his experience and I hope that given some time he will feel secure again and join the rest of his fish family.

Hi mrsjcc, Welcome to FishLore

Poor little guy. I hope the cat didn't hurt him.

Yes, I would bet he is traumatized. Give him some time, I'm sure he'll be back to his old self again.
