Yet another idea has entered my all knowing mind of all knowing ideas! I was wondering, if I had a dwarf gourami in my 10 gallon tank, what other fish could i have in with it? thanks in advance!

well, a 10 gallon tank isn't the biggest thing around. You must take care when stocking your new tank. But anyway, you want to add a dwarf gourami, huh? The following fish are possible tankmates:

Corydoras (standard/dwarf)
Livebearers
Many peaceful tetra species
Some peaceful barbs
Small sharks
betta? >> Not the best idea


and you know the rule of stocking I presume? if not, reply for info

what do you mean by small sharks?

Also, how would a school of 6 neons work?

A school of 6 neons and a couple of cories would stock your tank perfectly. And by small sharks (you may not want to use this though, but rather as a last resort) I mean juvenile red-tails or red finned sharks. But i dont recommend them, it was just a suggestion. It would be best to keep one in at least a twenty, so the sharks are, i guess, out of the question

so i could have like three cories, a dwarf gourami, and 6 neons? Isn't that overstocked?

if you are using plastic plants (i read an article on this) you can ever so slightly overstock the tank. Otherwise, you could tryonly adding five neons. A small shoal of five is the minimum. As with the cories, try finding some pygmy corys (good luck...) and add 3. They're usually less than 1" long. But also, you could try very small bronze cories, which also work.

it would be the easiest thing to do, and maybe add a mystery snail to clean up anything your cories miss

You could do that. Also, you could probably have 4-5 caries and the dwarf gourami.

mebbe....I think i'll just go with the corys and the dwarf g. Can i put them all in the same week, or should i add the cories first then wait a week for the gourami?

That would be a good idea if you are worried about the Gourami being aggressive.

Cherry Barbs are great fish, but that would that overstock your tank

yah may want to watch the choice of cherry barbs. harmless they may be, but being active may stress your gourami out
