10g and dwarf gouramis?

I know I'm probablly getting a bit ahead of myself but it helps me keep patient heh. I've finally moved the fish from my father's old 10g to my 22g and I'm not really sure what to do with the 10g now. I was thinking that pair of dwarf gouramis I wanted would look nice with a sand substrated (I really want those small snails that dig in the sand, don't remember their name off the top of my head) and some live plants. The dwarf gouramis are the only ones I'd like in the tank besides the snails so a pair would have plenty of room, right? Maybe even three as long as I make sure there is only one male?

as long as they are dwarf gouramis and not blue or gold three spot gouramis you can probaly get away with 1 male and 2 females but make sure that there are plenty of hiding places and that the fish are close to the same size.

Is it common for stores to sell other ones as dwarf gouramis? I think I could tell the differance but if the people at the store are going to try and pass something off for something its not I better start trying to find another place to go to (I just have a Petsmart and a Petco within 20min-1hr, they both have beautiful tanks and everytime I'm in there the tanks are being cleaned and the bettas are in nice sized cups).

Thanks a lot ^^

so 2 females and one male gourami wouldn't get the male to ruff up the two females? How many hiding places would you need? I am also thinking of this setup.

just some tall plants or fake plants to breakup the line of sight in the tank.

You also might want to look at the honey gouramis or the chocolate gouramis. I am getting some for my 10 gallon.

The snails are Malaysian Trumpet Snails =). Get like 5 and you will have about 20 next week.

Hi!

That won't work out at all! In a small tank - D.gouramis become as aggresive to each other as Bettas! The fish won't be happy, at all.
