How do you cure driftwood?

I'd love some driftwood- but I'd like to do it myself, so I can make sure it is exactly what I wanted. After looking through my books, it only told me that is a very complicated process, but I'm willing to give it a try!

IGNORE THIS!!!! I didn't see the MANY articles on driftwood- I read the article by Isabella- so I'm all good.

You can simply boil it for a few hours to sterilize it and leach out most of the tannins.
