Choya and Plecos

Would choya wood be alright to use in place of driftwood for a pleco?

It depends on the species of pleco, and what you want to use the wood for.

i think she wants to use choya wood. Personally i wouldnt use it. it would look awesome in a tank, but i dont know if it contains any dangerous leech that could maybe harm your pleco. They do certainly love to suck on DW though

I have choya wood with my daughters hermit crabs...after looking at it, I do not think it is water safe and its really porous ...everything ive found on it says its more for rodents and such that do not need water...

Petco and petsmart both have drift wood on their shelves. also on the shelves in bags are small pieces of mopani wood that is awesome but a little expensive.
