Sealing Driftwood?

Once I read that there was a way to make sure driftwood didn't leak tannins into the water, what was it? Does boiling it make it 100% un-leaky?

U can boil it and boil and boil and boil again and again until there are no tannins showing in the water. I have a peice in my tank that still had a bit of tannins showing in the boiling water but still used it-got tired of boiling and was impatient. None of the tannins are showing (with the naked eye), it's been at least a week.

to totally get rid of tannis, you need to soak the piece for a good few months changing the water periodically , then as beth said, boil boil boil until its not brown anymore...I wouldnt seal it with anything just go the natural route...I like the tannis look myself but im a weird one
