Yes i will take a picture today as soon as i get home, i boiled sort of the stam for 2 hours yesterday because if want to boil the whole thing i'm gonna need a big family soup pot. nothing really happened some pices got loose i guess thats the idea i scrub the soft parts off the hard part and i left the whole thing is sumerged. thank you i hope i can use it i like it |

| It looks like a great peice of wood. It would be a really good idea to watch for the sharp pointy edges, wouldn't want anyone's fins getting snagged or an eye poked.
I'm not postive about this but I'm pretty sure if it was pine, you would have seen sap bubbling out when you boiled it. It know if you burn pine you can see it.
You should also be able to smell it if it's pine or cedar.
Since it's not water logged, it might not sink. I think the links I gave you have some suggestions about getting it to stay down. |

| Can't tell what kind of tree but sure is a nice piece!!! Scratch the wood deeply and smell it....you will know it it is pine or cedar. Is it from a dead tree?...or green tree? Dead would be best but I would try it anyway....cook it ...ie boil...see what comes out if just tannins you good to go.....this is just my opinion....really worth the try it is beautiful. |
