Funky looking driftwood

I have been treating my tank for fungus. I've attached a pic of the piece of driftwood that's in the tank. Is this normal? Should I remove the driftwood. I have Plecos and they like/need the wood. Yes, I boiled the wood prior to putting it in the tank. Yes, the LFS said it was already for the tank but I boiled it anyway. Using rid fungus in the tank presently.

I'd say that's not normal looking. if in doubt, boil it again, it can't hurt...

It can't hurt to boil it again, I agree, but I think that piece looks just fine.

So all the "stuff" on it is ok....not fungus? Or a contributor to fugus growth?

Probably just algae on the wood.

Your fish will probably nibble on the "stuff" if they want a snack. The algae growth on our driftwood is enjoyed by a couple juvenile angelfish, brokis (big cories basically), kuhlis, bn plecos, and cherry shrimp.

OK....thanks everyone.....I took it out as a precaution and boiled it again. Looked in today and the pleco was enjoying it!
