Hi Dixie! Welcome. I have 2 gold dojos. From what I've read on the internet yes, they do like company of their own kind. However keep in mind that they can grow up to 10 or even more inches! I feed mine shrimp pellets and occasionally blood worms that you can get frozen at your pet store. They really love those!! They also like cooler temp tanks mine is currently at 75 degrees F. They are really fun and can become tame playing with your hand as you do maintenance inside the tank. Even eat from your hand!

Good luck and have fun with him!

hi there. What kind of loach is he? I have a weather loach and a yoyo in the tank. They love sinking shrimp pellets. I always drop a couple in when the lights go out because they are nocturnal, although mine is out all day and eats in the morning too.

sorry, i didnt realize it said in your aquarium info lol. A dojo is just a different variety of weather loach, usually more golden or white, so my info still applies. They certainly have a lot of character! Just be careful, they can jump if they feel the oxygen is too low because they will go towards the surface where there is more oxygen. I check to see if my loach is there everyday because its hard to keep the temps down in my tank in the summer. They like cooler water temps, but i keep my tank at 76 degrees which is still in their range.
