Hi just got 2 beautiful gold baby dojos - almost 3 in long - and i'm new to the species. Been reading how owners hand feed and how their dojo loves to sit in their hands, etc. How does one tame their dojo? I would love to cultivate this kind of relationship with mine but dont knnow the best method of doing this. any advise would be wonderful.

also, didn't realize they like sand for the bottom of their tank. I have the standard small rock subtrate in black, which really makes the gold dojos pop!

Can i mix the two? I'm thinking to create a "sand box" in one part of the tank or do a half and half or do they need the whole floor with sand??

They should have at least part of the tank with a soft substrate (pool filter sand, EcoComplete, not Tahitian Moon) so they can root around. All would be better, as it would allow them to range the entire aquarium. If you just make a sandbox, they may never leave that area.

Not sure about teaching them.
