Dojo (Weather) Loach

I've had one Dojo Loach in my 20 gallon for several months now. Tonight I decided that he (Lurch) needed a companion. According to websites, you should keep at least two of them, and can keep two in a 20 gallon tank. So Lurch has a new companion. The new little one's name is Twitch, and Lurch took to him/her right away.
The Dojo Loach is such an adorable, active, and charismatic fish. I'm hoping that Twitch will be as entertaining and healthy as Lurch has been.

Re: Dojo (Weather) Loach

Dojo's are my favorite loaches. When I got mine the used to go crazy, swimming real fast all around the tank. Now that they are older they pretty much stick to the lower part of the tank.

Re: Dojo (Weather) Loach

They (Lurch and Twitch), have really hit it off! They'll both be doing their own thing, on their own, and then they come to rest face-to-face. They lay there for a little bit, as though they're talking, and then off they go together! Dashing this way and that, side by side or intertwining. It's almost like they are dancing..... water ballet in my own tank! I'm glad to see them getting along so well, and feel a little sad that I've deprived Lurch of this for so long.

Re: Dojo (Weather) Loach

weather loaches are my favorite,i have 4 in my 55g there a hoot to watch, especially late at night when the lights are out is when there the most active.one paticular loach goes so fast he skips across the top of the water over and over(i think this one loach needs to be in a bigger tank :/ my tank is over 4 feet long and it takes him like a split second to reach the other side .its really cool when they swim together weaving in and out of eacher other.im pretty sure there happy in there 55g

the first loach i got is about 6 inches ,i named him mr.wiggles
