Hi guys, I am getting a new Shetland sheepdog pup female, she is being shipped from Peever South Dakota USA to Manchester New hampshire USA at june 5th or 6th... we can't wait to get her... that makes 16 dogs for us... 12 german shepherds, 1 american eskimo, 1 (2 with the addition of the new female) shetland sheepdog, and 1 Chihuahua. We love all our dogs dearly, we breed the shepherds, they all sleep in the house. We are going to name this new girl Kaylee. Here are some pics of her. Brianna
Oh yeah and for whoever wants to see our Shepherds please go to www.blackpawsgermanshepherds.com
Please look only, do not email us unless wanting to purchase a pup. Brianna
The amer eskimo and shetland sheepdog do sleep with me... the chihuahua sleeps with my sister, the older dogs are loose in the house to sleep wherever they choose, but the younger dogs (who don't calm down at night just yet) have to sleep in their crates. We were thinking of showing our older shetland sheepdog whos just a year and a half, but his temperament does not permit that. When we got him he was incredibly shy, fortunatly we have worked most of that out of him, he is an incredibly beautiful dog, and it is a shame he is still a little shy. This new female we are getting is much better tempered (from what the breeder said), so we are hoping to do some agility or obedience with her. We can't wait to get her! Though my dad doesn't know about her yet! :P : He would not like the idea of another dog!

P.S. attached is a pic of my shetland sheepdog (sheltie) male Otis.
Wonderful Dogs, brianna!!! Breed them?
The sheltie looks very much like a rough collie...
I have an Alaskan Malamute x GermanShprd (Tiger). Do you train your dogs your'lself? I've succeeded in training him just the basics, sit stay down etc, oh, and he can also shake your hand in greeteing!
Goodluck with your new pup! (give her an extra cuddle from me !)
Hi, thanks. Yes we breed shepherds, and we are going to have one litter a year of shetland sheepdogs (shelties) once this girl gets old enough. Yes we train our dogs ourselves. All are very friendly and know all the basics, sit, down, stay, etc. Our sheltie and our amer. eskimo know a lot of tricks though, as I pay special attention to them, where my mother trains the shepherds mostly, but she often makes me do it!
The new pup is doing good, she settled in nicely. We were a little concerned with her poop, as it seemed a bit bloody and mucusy. So we brang a stool sample down to the vet, and the vet said she had the most coccidia she had ever seen in her entire life. So we got some Albon to treat that, and her poop looks much better already.
Its amazing what health certificates they ship the dogs with. No temperature, fecal sample, weight, etc. Only breed, sex, date of birth, and color. Thats not a health certificate if you ask me!
Shes already housebreaking nicely, so thats good. Overall I am very happy with her. Perfect girl, and she trots so nicely, think she'll have more of a show-dog look with the shorter muzzle and poofier coat. Attached is a pic of her as promised. Brianna
OMG that puppy is cute! If I didn't already have four dogs I would love to get another. Two of our dogs are geriatric and can raise some heavy vet bills. They are worth every penny though. You puppy is adorable and bound to make a great addition to your family! Thanks for sharing.
Aaaaw, puppies! I can easily say that puppies are the cutest thing in the entire universe. Give 'em a cuddle from me too, would you?
When my parents' dog was a puppy, I wouldn't leave it alone, and it loved it. It became a huuuge dog, so I tried to make it really secure and not jumpy for later by getting him used to loud noises, sudden gestures, etc. so it would be a chilled dog. I overdid it I think as that dog was behaving like it was constantly stoned as a adult! Totally chilled. The world's worst guard dog.
Oh, and when he was a puppy, I also wanted him to not be scared of the water so giving him baths later didn't become an all-out war. I used to put him in the (empty) bath and gently run the tap on and let him play with the running water. I went on holiday for a few weeks as he gained in weight, and my mom phoned me in fits of laughter. She asked me to kindly stop teaching my dog stupid tricks as the now very much larger dog had jumped in the bath water with her, nearly drowning them both!
