My sister has a lab mix that she adopted that is the same way. You couldn't even touch his feet or lower legs without him trying to bite you. She gives him a benadryl when she needs to trim his nails. It knocks him out and while he is snoozing she can do whatever she wants! The vet okayed the benadryl and figured the proper dosage when he got stung by a wasp on his eyelid. Being able to trim his nails was a nice side effect.
Your dogs are definitely not wolves in sheeps clothing though - they are sweet little teddy bears...you can tell by their faces!
