| | Fish Addict | aw, poor Daisy! She got scared by the giant cat.... hehee.... I think maybe Daisy forgets how little she is, right? I've got a female cocker spaniel, Abigail, she's always at the window barking up a storm at chipmunks and squirrels and birds and people, and falling leaves, LOL, anything that moves really! It's like she's letting everyone know she's there.
But she really doesn't like being picked up , even by me. She never liked it, even as a puppy. She'd rather be all stretched out on the floor, and me rub her belly, or she'd much rather play, than be picked up and snuggled. So she's not a lap dog, and that's normal for her, so I can understand Daisy not wanting strangers to pick her up.
here's a pic of Abigail. Post some of Daisy Tony ! |

Post some of Daisy Tony ! | awww she's adorable ya daisy thinks she's a rottweiler (shh! she doesnt know she isnt) she has always let her pick her up and hold her like a baby haha sometimes you can tell she's in a grumpy mood so i wont pick her up. Its funny cuz when she barks she gets all fluffed up like a pomeranian its soo cute to watch, but then again her bark kinda gets annoying when she barks at birds and everything
the pic is kinda what she looks like when she fluffs and puffs up |

| | Fish Addict | hehee cute ! Yeah, i know what you mean about annoying. Sometimes something outside gets her attention, and the barking can drive me up a wall. But usually, a simple "allright Abigail, I see it, good girl" is enough to stop it. (I've used that psychology on her from the beginning. When she barks, I look out th ewindow and acknowlege what it is she's barking at, and say "good girl". She seems proud when I do that, as if she's done her job, then the barking and/or her interest in whatever it was, ends. ) |

| | Fish Master | ahahahahaha ROFL
no my daisy ignores you.
at first i say her name in a normal tone. Then i rise it a little bit. Then i do the dog whisperer shush. If she keeps going i get up, find her and yell DAISY to snap her out of it. When she does, she starts wagging her tail and runs to me i'm like... you crazy dog...
Its hilarious how she puffs up tho.. i'll take a pic in one of her "moments" lol |

| | Fish Keeper | Chihuahuas are definitely a big dog in a little body. They don't realize how small they are until they have already picked a fight with the biggest dog in the park (so to speak). I'm sorry Daisy got scratched by the cat and I hope she is doing better now. One of the breed characteristics of Chi's is that they act like a big dog. They don't know the meaning of the words "you are too small to handle that situation". |

| | Fish Keeper | That's my baby. I got her from the pound the first saturday in January of 2001. She was 9 months old. She had come in as a stray 3 days after Christmas, so I figured she was probably a Christmas present that either they did not want or she got away and they didn't care to look for her. She had already been spayed. I was curious as to her "parentage", so I had a dna test done. She is truly a mutt. The dna test results are divided into three categories, Primary, Secondary, and In the Mix. For a breed to show as Primary, it has to be 50% (or more) and will only show if one of the parents is purebred. The Secondary category is for breeds "detected at significant levels within your dog". The last category, In the Mix, shows breeds that are there, but in very small amounts. My pup showed nothing in the Primary or Secondary categories. In the Mix showed Borzoi, Boxer, German Shepherd, and Labrador Retriever. It's interesting, because those are all larger dogs, and she is only about 25 pounds. She hates getting wet, so I don't know where the lab is. She does love to run, so I guess that's from the Borzoi. Other than that, I've had people tell me that she looks like a red border collie. Or a cross between a Sheltie and a Golden Retriever. Go figure. |

The rest of mine are comet/commons. They all started as feeder fish from Walmart and Petsmart. A couple of them were given to me because they were received as "prizes" by little kids and the mom didn't want to deal with them. |

do you have more fish ? | No inside tanks - just the pond. I have the goldfish, mosquito fish, a couple of american flag fish, one chinese algae eater, and 2 sailfin plecos. I bring the plecos and CAE in during the winter since it gets too cold in the pond for them. I had two more cae's, but I didn't need them in my pond, and my sister needed them for hers so I gave them to her. Her algae problem has been greatly reduced! |

In the top right pic, you can see one of my american flag fish. In the bottom left pic (in the small tank), you can see a very pregnant female. |
