Punishing them when you find an "accident" only makes the dog afraid of you and afraid of you finding the "accident" so they try to "hide" it better. Interrupting when you see them starting and then taking them where it is OK is the best way to train.

I have no idea how I missed this and I'm sure I'm too late in helping but I may not have been much help anyway considering we breed for show not pets....When raising show puppies dicipline is at a bare minimum because you never want to punish too hard due to the fact that yelling at them breaks their spirit.....

To make a long story short this is how I potty train! lol...I hire a profession named "Mr. Bissel" I've found they grow out of the peeing stage around 4 months old....BTW, you have a dog that is a cross of 2 very stubborn breeds lol....He'll get it whenever he is darn well ready to!

You should never punish or shove your dogs face into the pee or poo. It will make the afraid to go to the bathroom in front of you. Causing more problems and they will just hide from you and go to the bathroom in the house where you can't see them.
