Aussie or Golden, what to get??

Hi all..
I am not Ryan writing, i am Ryans girlfriend Trish..I found that his fish website has a furry pet section and now im all over it.. haa
I am a crazy dog lover, and Ryan promised me that when we bought a house I could get a second dog.. Well we bought a house and now im on the hunt for a puppy. The only thing is im not sure whether I want a second Golden Retriever or try an Australian Shepherd..
So my question is, do any of you out there own an Aussie/and or a golden. and which do you prefer.. I have researched Aussie's alot, but our Golden Chloe is such an awesome dog so Im kinda torn.. I know another Golden will NEVER be the same as Chloe, so why not try a different breed.. I dont know which to choose, they are both gorgeous dogs.. any input would be greatly appreciated.
Trish

Hi Ryan's girlfriend, I'm a fish keeper & a dog groomer/lover. Aussie's are VERY high engery & if you don't have time or a place he can run free every day I'd have to say get the Golden. When an Aussie gets board & can't run off extra engery they get into every thing. A happy Aussie is a tired Aussie. Please make sure you can handle such a high engery dog before you get one. The Aussie is also high on the list of very smart dogs.

/me seconds this

Goldens tend to be high energy dogs (at least the field lines), but Aussies have incredible drive. They tend to need a job, even more than GR's do, and if you don't give them one they will make their own (and this is most likely not going to go in your favor).

Austrailans are AMAZING!! I love austrailians, I had one for 16 years before he died last summer of old age. I cant say that he ever got in trouble (but we live on a farm, so he had plenty to keep him occupied.) His name was Blacky ( how original ) and he was the best dog I ever had. He had so much personality.
