| Dog Cruelty: Dog Set On Fire By Owner A few days ago I saw a horrifying newsreport in my local news. There was a young man (about 21 years old) in Long Island (New York) who had ... poured gasoline over his dog (it was either a boxer or a pitbull, don't remember) and then ... he put the dog on fire! The dog had over 60% of its body burned and lived for a few days in an animal hospital, after which it died. It turned out the man had another dog, a golden retriever I think, in his residence. The second dog was taken away from him, before he had a chance to do anything to it. The man's neighbor said that a while ago he saw the man with yet another dog but one day he heard shots, and he never saw the dog again. He said he was sure the young man shot the dog to death.
Can any one of you believe this? How do you even comment an act like this? Why do people do this? I mean, how does torturing an innocent animal help you - personally - in achieving ANYTHING in your life? What is the purpose of such actions? I can't understand. Call me mean if you will, but this man deserves to be soaked in gasoline and set on fire himself, just like he did to his dog. Jail is a light sentence compared to what this dog had to go trough. The only fair way to make this man understand what he did, is to do the exact same thing he did to his dog!
I totally, absolutely, outrageously CANNOT accept such animal cruelty. NEVER. I have no words to describe what I feel towards people like this. |
