my plants arrived bunched and weighted. well, once the roots were established i removed the weights as they stop the plants naturally spreading. so i have a load of weights ready to go in the bin.........i have cucumber wedged between 2 stones....not ideal, so..................use any left over plant weights to wrap around your cucumber and it will never float or break free again! i guessed they must be tank friendly or they wouldnt use them on aquarium plants. i guess with repeated bending and flexing they wont last forever? but will last me a while as i have loads! just thought i'd share this brainwave with you (i dont have many good ideas!! - so make th most of it!! )
here's mine.... (sorry about the reflections...its a sunny day and even with the curtains closed its still reflecting loads!) - but you get the idea of how its used!!!
That's a good idea. I use either an elastic band to the rock or stick it on a piece of the fake blue coral I have in each tank. Either way, the BN loves it and gaurds it even against the skunk loaches.

sorri to let you down guys But The weights that they tie around Plants are LED. So DOnt keep them on your plants or in your Tank i was Told this very impornt fact by fish store workers.
adamzieger I'm sorry your LFS has given you erroneous advice. Yes it is lead, but it is aquarium safe lead. You can buy the same type of lead strips in packages at the LFS. Have used them for several years for various things in the tank.
Carol
tank safe leads are tungsten-nickel alloys but since the EPA is only worried about birds its still okay for them to sell lead for aquarium plant use i wouldn't use them in my tank but I'm a pessimist and i don't put cucumbers in my tank so i have no need why do you put cucumbers in your tank i see the pleco are they treats or a food supply? Lee
VertigoXLR8R222- Most plecos need the bigger part of their food supply to be vegetable matter to be healthy and cucumbers, zuchinni etc are a good way to do that.

Some people were weary of my brainwave due to the risk of lead poisoning?
As you're always fun to chat to, I won't sue you!
check the dates!! i posted my idea in march....yours was may!!! you must have just read my mind 2 months later!!!!!! takes a while for the brainwaves to get up north to you armadillo!!
