Home made algae scraper

Here are some directions for making your own algae scraper.* *The good thing about this one is that you can make it any length you need it to be out of pvc.* I actually use this every couple of days to scrape the encrusting algae that grows on my saltwater tank glass. The store bought algae scrapers just were not cutting it!

Do not use this on an acrylic (plastic) tank - GLASS ONLY

Re: Home made algae scraper

just to add my experience into the mix some of the razor blades i have used in the past are coated in a rust resistant oil i am sure this wouldn't be good for the animals in your tank everyone who makes a d.i.y. algae scraper pay special attention to whether your blade is coated or not Lee
