Do you like drip affect?

Hello, I was wondering if you like drip effect on your filter? I mean where you get tubing or whatever and punch holes in the bottom so that it drips (it gets water from the water coming out of the filter).
1. Do you like it?
2. Are there any benefits? I think there would maybe be extra oxygen, because the surface would get disturbed more right?

I have extra tubing and am thinking about doing this. Thanks!

You mean like a spray bar?

I think there will be extra oxygen due to more water being disturbed, but it'll also produce quite a loud sound if there's enough pressure, which you might not like. I have an external filter and I pushed the spray bar under the water level because I was unable to sleep with the noise.

fbn, do you have a spray bar? Your post got me wondering if I should get one - my fluval 305 didn't come with that.

No, I do not. What I would attemt to do would be: Put the one end of the tubing under(and facing up)the filter output. Then, the water would flow into the tubing and flow out of thees that I would make on the bottom.

Is it loud? If I would do that it would probably be good for my aquarium. If I were to stuff some filter floss in the tubing, it would probably attract some basteria?!

Well, it must have little holes in it (the bar), which makes water fall out of it. That creates the "drip effect" I believe or something like that.
