How to make a bookshelf/aquarium stand.

Hello,

I have a computer desk that I don't really use and was wondering of replacing it for a bookshelf that can hold a 20/30 gallon long/tall. Instead of spending big bucks for one I was wondering if anyone has a blueprint/instructions on how to make one? I'm not really a handy man but I will do my best. This would be a great self present for my birthday

It looks nice! I am gonna do a stand too! its gonna hold a 35, 10g and maybe a second 10g

Its gonna be half cabinet and half drawers. Your frame looks very stable and well supported too!

Navysvuba is building his multiple tank stand and he should be able to help out with it

use google sketch! It's fun and really easy to use! The smallest difficulty was knowing how to use the tools but it's kind of similar to the program paint in windows os.

I did a slight modification so now I'm thinking of something like this.

I had an old book case that we converted to a bookcase/fish stand. it worked ok with a 10gallon on it but i'm not sure how beefy your stand will be. My book case was made of oak, so make sure its not a wimpy wood

edit: didn't see the picture, very nice design i really like it. are you gonna leave it open or put cabinet doors on it?

I'm going to leave it open, making the stand itself is a big task itself and then some doors!

looks like a cool stand. I am also going to soon be making and stand/cabinet, and i was wondering if you were going to do it out of good quality hardwood plywood, or with a frame then plywood shelves.

Good luck

I plan on using medium density fiberboard. I heard it's really good wood but not %100 sure. What do you plan on using?

I plan on making a frame out of 2x4's then covering top, bottom, sides, and back with plywood then putting in a mid level plywood shelf. Then i hope to attach doors and trim, but i am not sure how well the trim will go.

I made a drawing on google sketch it but i don't know how to take a picture.

Thanks
