| easy fast way to clean dw!!!!!!! about a three months ago i found a piece of dw that i sold to one of the members of this forum, but before i sent it i did some work to it, i cut some pieces off and cleaned it. i work in a machine shop that gives me access to alot of cool tools, the one that i used to clean this piece of dw was a sand blaster, it turned out to be the fastest way that i have ever cleaned a piece of wood, i accidently deleted the pics but to give u an idea of how good it worked, the dw was 36x18x12 with a 6 inch hole in it, and it only took about ten mins to completly remove all the dirt, bark, rotton wood, dried moss, mud, even inside the hole, which i thought i would never completly get clean. it brought out all the water marks and beauty back into the wood, leaving me with a great finish and not alot of work, plus the sand is just sand, so if some happens to stick to the wood it wont really hurt anything, i will try to get another piece of dw i will post pics, anyway, i sure most cities will have a machine shop and they probly wont charge to much to sand blast some wood. so mabey some of u can try it yourself, let me know if anyone else has tried this. |
