connecting python to tub spout. help

hey how do i connect python to tub spout/ faucet. My bathtub spout/faucet has no threads. its like a big one where there is a knot on top, u pull it to get water from showerhead and push it down to get water from my bath tub faucet/spout. now my question is is there any adapter available to change the bathtub spout with one with thread so i can screw in my python adapter? i still need to use my shower head obviously. currently i see no possible way to do it. any experts or DIY gurus have done this? pls help. also link to pictures, products that i need to buy would be very helpful. thanks a lot everyone.

Hello Neupane. I hope you're doing well. I've never heard of anyone connecting their python to the tub but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I think most use it and attach it the sink faucet instead. I'll be looking forward to seeing the responses you receive as well.
Take care!

hey ken. how are u? ive been ok. just super busy at work. i am moving to new place and that place has VERY "modern" sick faucet that doent take in python adapter. And its so cool, i dont wanna downgrade my kitchen faucet to old style ones. Thats why bathroom tub would be ideal. also i think i posted this in wrong section. can u pls move it to DIY?

Hello neuapneI see and understand about not wanting to downgrade your faucets. I'll move the thread for you to the DIY. Doing well here thanks!

typically those bathtub spouts just screw onto a standard water line. i cant imagine a sink faucet not having any sort of threads tho, thought they all had a thing you could unscrew and have access to the little screen

sink faucet is really cool and i dont wanna mess with it.. its the kind where u digitally set the water temperature and pressure and the water comes out. i dont see any connection/thread etc. and too scared to touch 1200 bucks faucet to attach python. hope u understand.. any ideas about tub spout?

i don't know of any "proper" way to do it...but perhaps you could try cutting the top off of a rubber baloon (like a party balloon). Slide the wider part over the tub faucet, and the small part over the python tube. You may have to use some rubber bands or something to maintain the seal.

I'm not sure if the balloon can take the pressure, so take care to remove everything that can't get wet ;-D

Sometimes you have to get creative ;-D

EDIT: the other alternative is to rock it old school, huffing 5 gal buckets. thats how I roll and it works pretty well with my 75gal.

thats awesome! i can totally understand why you wouldnt want to mess with it now. i probably wouldnt touch those either. is there any chance you have access to an outside water spout maybe you could just extend your hose to reach one of those. i would say either that or running it to your laundry room faucet/drain would be the only options.
