Good evening all!
I want to make a form for some moss, I could use rock but would rather use styrofoam. Does the stryrofoam have to be treated in anyway before I attach moss to it? I plan to stuff a rock into it in order for it to sink.

nope. The chemical name is "polystyrene"...the same chemical beverage bottles are made from ;-D

The only difference is physical structure. "styrofoam" is just processed as a foam instead of solid laminate like bottles.

I might coat it with some epoxy resin or even spray paint to keep the loose bits from floating off (I'm sure you can find some aquarium safe paint by searching fishlore)...but other than that it's perfectly food (and aquarium) safe!
