pure

i just was wondering if you could use purified water in batta tanks. if so how healthy is it for the fish?

Depends on how it's purified. I use RO/DI water which is also ran through a UV Sterilizer from Wal-Mart for all my smaller tanks. I buy the 5g dispenser at about .36 cents a gallon. That's pure water!!! I even went as far as calling the # on the dispenser to ask the company if there were any additives in it. It's a Culligan

I agree with MizRamzi as to exactly how purified is the water? Distilled water has to be mixed with tap water and it's my understanding that RO water has to have some of the nutrients replaced as well with RO conditioner. Whatever you decide, you need to check the pH levels first before adding it into your tank.

Depending on which Pur filter, that's likely to just be carbon filtration, which is quite common in aquariums. It may not be any healthier for the fish, but it probably won't hurt.

you can use that water for a betta tank no need to add dechlorinator to the pur filtered water
