I am thinking about moving my tank across the room. We got new furniture and it would look better over there. My best guess at moving them is put the fish in the bucket I use for water changes, and empty the rest of the water (leaving some to keep the gravel wet) and move it and put in the water and fishies. does that sound to you guys like it would work? or do you have better suggestions.

Also keep your filter media wet.

Your plan should work. Be careful about your wiring as well, don't get any of it wet or caught. And I agree with Btate on the filter media. Good luck!
