In-Need of Carpentry Experience

Hi All,

I just bought a complete system and during the excitement didn't think of testing to see if the sump/refug would fit in the cabinet. The sump measures 12" in width. The support legs in the center measure in at 11 1/4". Would it be possible to remove a little of the excess (on each leg) to have the sump fit without losing integrity of the stand?

P.S. I only have this issue with the center of the stand.

Hi Mike, Welcome to Fishlore. It shouldn't be a problem to remove a piece of the centre post. It looks as though it's made of plywood, so it'll be very strong, and shouldn't be affected. I'd use a jigsaw with a guide to acheive a neat cut if I were you.

it shouldn't be a problem. I'd use a router or a jig saw with a guide. depending on what you have. and would stain the area

Thanks a lot for the replies and welcomes. I do appreciate it.

I will definitely post pics once its setup. I've been reading and rereading this forum religiously for the past 3 months. You guys have every question covered in order to get someone started properly. Except, for the issue that I have which is covered now! j/k
