Glass Canopy Hinge

For all you DIYs out there - I have an old 20 gallon that is not in the best of shape that I was hoping to convert into a glass canopy for my 55 gallon. Just to buy a plastic hinge though runs about $15.00. Anybody have any ideas for a less expensive route for a hinge that would work that I might be able to find at a home improvement store? Thanks!

Yeah I tried to find something myself after calling the company and asking about the hinges, I was looking to replace 2 canopy's for a 10g/20h, the price was $5 for the hinge and $4 for shipping, when I paid $10 for a new canopy didn't make sense to buy a new hinge.
I haven't check it out but maybe plastic trim for paneling might work?
Any other ideas?

Simple - disassemble the tank and take one of the long pieces of glass to a window place and spend a couple of dollars to have them make a couple of cuts in the glass. Add a hinge and voila - homemade glass canopy!

Check this out. Should cost you like $3 for a tube of silicone, unless you have some then it will cost you $0.
