I'm making a new divider so if another tank breaks again, I won't have to put the residents in a tiny cubicle or breeder box. However, I just noticed that the plastic craft mesh I bought for the purpose is kind of tacky, like it's got some glue or something still on.

Is there anything I can wash it with to remove this texture without adding dangerous chemicals to my water when I use it?

as cheap as the stuff is, i wouldnt attempt to use it ...for a few reasons...you might not get it all off and out of the crevices and it could leach into the tank, or the product you use to remove it could seep into the mesh or not come completely off while rising...

if you cant get more, or its not as cheap as it is here in the states, you could use some rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky, then maybe boil the mesh a couple times after..but id still be leary ...goodluck!
