So I have been searching the forum for hours and constantly staring at my own tank, and have decided I need a show stand and hood for it. However I am stuck for inspiration so thats where you come in...

I am looking for pics of your own stands, or random pictures from the web, advice, ideas, things you would like to see or would have done differently on your own stands and or hoods.

Once I have my idea sketched out I would gladly post my pics along the way.

Just so you know I have a 48" x 12.5" x 21" high tank with two over hanging filters, I could switch to a canister filter if need be but didn't want to go to that expense if I didn't have too.

What really got me going about doing this was seeing some of the blue LED tanks at night, I thought a tall hood would be perfect to have a couple LED hidden up there aimed down, spot lighting certain parts of the tank, with everything on timers so the night lights shut off when the day lights kick in...

I included a few pictures of tanks I have so far for inspiration

Sorry I'm in the midst of designing a multi tank shelving unit sort of idea but don't have much to offer here at the moment.

This is my stand I got a 100 gal on it but dont have a wood hood on it. few pics from when I got it and in the sanding process.

no red...those r just pics of other ppl s tanks i am gunna use as a starting point

thanks navy...that looks great, i was actually thinking i might run some boards up the sides but just at the back to hide the filters...if that makes sense, I'll do up some drawings later

how tall of a hood have ppl made in the past...how tall could I go with just resting it on the top of the tank or whould it have to be anchored to the wall?

Sorry if this is been done in the past, I'm just a perfectionist and want something that is going to look "freakin sweet"....hahaha and that is going to last my lifetime
