1) Java moss in unheated tank attached to a small rock.
2) Frond
3) update on Java head man

Hey Carol that frond in the second pic looks like my peacock moss. Either you have peacock moss or I have two different types of java moss.

It was part of that big ball of Java Moss. It only reacted like this when I placed it in an unheated tank.65-70F. It had very low lights also and the moss grew exceptionally slow. When it was all returned to the tropical tank it went back to looking like regular Java Moss.
I had to look and see what Peacock Moss looked like It is a pretty moss

That's it. You see what I meant about the fronds looking alike? It seems to grow at about the same rate as java moss and does well with low light or high light and many different temps.

Here's an update on Java moss man His hair is a little fly away so probably need to trim it. I can't keep the corys out of it LOL The Ornge laser corys have made the cave their home. It's really startling to see one come shooting out of his mouth.

It looks great carol!
Can you just trim the moss and it'll start another plant?
It must be really funny watching the corys come out of his mouth.

His hair took a real long time to attach and begin to grow (the tank has 0.75 WPG) but he's been hairnet-free for several weeks now and it's coming in nicely Every once in a while I catch a pygmy cory sitting in his hair, but otherwise the fish treat him like another rock. Maybe at some point I'll tip him over on his side so his whole head can be a cave...

Yours looks really great Carol! It's super cute that your cories have made themselves right at home in his mouth too

How fast does java moss grow? I had heard it grows very slow but you girls seem to have it growing quite fast. I need to get some it looks like fun.
