DIY SUMP advice

Basically I was jut wondering if this was a good look for a 29g freshwater sump? If anyone thinks I should move any of the walls/overflows/baffles around let me know.

Can your tank handle the volume of the pump chamber if the overflow stops for some reason? If not you can shrink the volume of that chamber. Could put some plants in the middle section with a light over them to help take out more nitrates.

Looks good otherwise.

Just make sure the heater stays submerged at all times. Might be better to keep the heater in the display incase either the overflow or return pump fails, yet you still have power.

Also, agree with travie that the heater needs to remain submerged all the time, perhaps you could lay the heater horizontally in the tank.

I increased all the heights of the walls. so my lowest wall will be 13.5". Even still I will probably lay the heater horizontally as suggested. Thanks

Keep in mind the bio-media needs to stay mostly over the sump water level. In my Wet/Dry sumps I let the water level reach up to 1/3 of the bio-media, not more.
