| Hello and welcome to fishlore!
I have heard of folks using PVC pipes as caves and tunnels for their fish, I have not used it so cannot say for sure. Hopefully someone who has will come on board and give you a hand. |

| I see it use by all the LFS here in OZ, so I dont see why not.
I use it for all the plumbing from the tank to the sump..
Just round off the edges when you have cut it, use some fine sand paper,
BTW, Welcome to Fishlore! |

| I use PVC pipe for my cichlids to hang out in.
I have an elbow piece, they love it. |

| Just make sure it has no sharp edges due to imperfections. I have some left-over PVC pieces and was considering using aquarium safe silicon to cover some with sand substrate, or even small rocks.
It's a nice idea that I haven't implemented yet, but have seen here and elsewhere as a safe practice.
I figure even 1/2" would be safe for small fish like Kuhli Loaches.

Santo Domingo | Now thats a good idea, think we may use it in the reek tank to get extra flow in the rock work.
Thanks Pepe |

| and, somewhat on topic, would 3 or 2 of them work in a 20 G tank w/ a dwarf gourami, and 4 zebra danios? |

| The PVC pipe will be fine for them and look very nice covered in silicone and rolled in sand or small gravel.
The only concern I would have with that fish list is if the Kuhlis are small as they often are. If they are the Gourami might take them for worms and try for some live food. Otherwise should be a great tank.

| the gourami is small too...
and besides- hes too busy grazing algae off of rocks...
the loaches are too big for his lazy feeding habits |
