aquarium safe silicone?

I read on fishlore that GE Silicone Type I for window and door is aquarium safe. It says 100% silicone rubber seal on the bottle.. So I bought it, scraped off the old silicone and then read the directions on the bottle. It says it's not for aquariums! I'm so confused.. is it okay to use it or no?

Unless someone has first hand knowledge, I'll go and exchange it tomorrow for the one marked for aquariums. I bought this one because it was cheaper and I thought it was okay. Now I can't continue.

IMO I would exchange it..why take the change when it states its not good..you might just have issues down the road with leaking or the chemicals might not be safe..goodluck!

Most companies use that warning, but aquarium silicone is 100% siliocone rubber........
100% is 100% regardless of manufacturer. The only difference with the tubes for aquariums, and the tubes that say Not for aquariums, is the warning label. All of them release toxins (acetic acid) that smell like vinegar while it is curing. Once the smell is gone, they are safe and non-toxic.All of them regardless of manufacturer is toxic in it's uncured state. No smell= No problem

EDIT: Forgot to mention that silicone made for tub and tile often contain antifungal chemicals. Do Not ever try to use tub and tile silicone. It will wipe out everything in the aquarium.
