So I decided to plant my 23g, and as a result purchased a new light fixture for that purpose. This left me with an extra 24" single tube fixture. The single tube fixture on my 30g also happens to be 24", and it had a provisions for the additions of a second tube. I decided that rather than have an extra light fixture collecting dust, I would sacrifice it for the greater good. The transfer of parts was beyond easy, requiring liitle more than patience and care to splice the correct wires into the correct places. As one who is not the handiest person in the world, imagine my surprise when I flipped the switch and the darned thing actually worked!
