I found out about Lunar Lights when I joined up here on Fishlore and was intruiged enough to go purchase a Coralife 3/4 watt light. I loved the effect but was very disappointed by the "spotlight" effect. It was lost in a 55 and you could only see the fish as they swam through the narrow beam. I wanted more!
eBay to the rescue! I found a set of alleged "wide focus" LEDs from a seller going by "gsolom." I asked him a few pointed questions before I bid, and Greg answered very quickly, and thoroughly. So Christmas eve, a small box arrived on my door. Much to my surprise, these things were huge! I sent another email off, asking if they could safely be bent, and what was inside all that heatshrink tubing. The next morning, he had already replied, saying that each pin of the
LED was individually heatshrunk, then the pair was packed with a sealant and heatshrunk again. This guy understands attention to detail!
So after I pulled the tree and other decorations down, I cut a piece of 3/4" angle aluminum I had left over from some past project and cut it to 42" long. Laying everything out on the rug, I marked center of the angle and fiddled with the spacing of LEDs.

Sharpies mark aluminum quite nicely
Then I drilled a pair of 1/8" holes 1/4" on either side of my LED marks, fed the zipties Greg supplied through the holes and tied off the bent LEDs.
A little electrical tape to tidy up the excess wiring and it looked sharp.
Three 6" lengths of industrial velcro were attached to the top of the angle and the whole shebang was stuck to my Coralife PC light strip.
Since my tank is so low to the floor, you'd need to bend down to see the bar.
Most of them ended up 1/16" above the glass, two ended up touching and needed adjusted to match the rest.
