I am thinking design a submersible light in my aquarium to see the fish color better. Please provide your input. Thanks.

I would suggest overhead light as the best bet for coloration. In nature the sunlight is overhead of the bodies of water the fish call home, therefore it would be more natural to have overhead lights (ie hood lights) in my opinion. You'd also run a larger risk of electrocuting yourself and/or your fish, which could cause injury or death to either.

chief is right.. and you can find lighting to bring out colors best without the risks of a submersible light. www.drsfosterandsmith has some underwater lighting, but it's LED.
