Hi guys, I am sick of my male mollies constantly raping my females. There's 5 females and 2 males and STILL it's a problem. For the time being, I'd like to partition my long tank in 2. I'd partition it lenghtways I thought. Any ideas as to how I'd go about doing that?

You can buy dividers for different size tanks at the LFS that have holes in them to allow water circulation.
I used needlepoint plastic on a smaller tank. don't knw if it would be rigid enough for a tank that big.

Seems like a strange way to divide the tank though. How will you see the fish on the other side of the partition?

But if you really want to split it that way, then whatever you use will have to be sectional to get around the center cross bar. the plastic netting you get in garden shops might do the job, with rigid poles at each end.

My 30G's don't have crossbars
Arma why not divide it front to back so you can see both sides ?

I wasn't sure how long the tank is, so erred on the side of caution. Most of my long tanks have at least one central cross bar, much to my annoyance at times!

I agree though that it would make more sense to divide straight down the middle, front to back, otherwise it is going to be very narrow.

I know, but I'm having a problem with it. I dont' see the button to update my signature in my profile. I only see my old info, but I don't get to change it. It's weird.

Click on profile then when it comes up over to the left in the box click account related information and you will be able to change it there.

Mmmm. I was wondering about that, and hesitating. I think i'd be such a shame for the fish to not have a lot of swimming length just because one male is aggressive (and because I don't want them to continue breeding like that). If it means reducing their quality of life that much, then I think I'll wait and get another big tank, then I'll split them male/female.

BC is like a powdered aspirin in a little folded piece of paper. They taste really awful but act faster because it's a powder
