sick discus

two of my discus are loosing weight,i have just noticed something which looks like a worm hanging from one of them .the worm looks like it has a head with stringy bits on the end.dont really know what it is but i am scared for my other fish as well.If anyone has any ideas of what kind of parasite this is please help.

I've had that before.... Best thing to do is put it in a quarrantine tank and just do 25% water change every day...

thanks for reply,i have put them in their own tank.I will do the daily water changes and hope they pick up.

Thanks for advice just an update my fish are getting better I'm sure it's because of the daily water changes, really happy my little white one is eating again and looking alot healthier thanks for the help

One more thing.... Put 2 Tablespoons of rock salt....NOT idozed for every 10 gallons... works wonders!!!

Thanks for advice,sadly I lost them both..They just wasted away to nothing..tried everything possible,just one of those things that couldn't be helped,they were really small .On a better note my pair are laying again..had to move them back on their own there was to much aggression between the male and a couple of others in the community tank.Do you have any experience with breeding pairs? any knowledge passed my way would be appreciated.

hi nicole ive 2 pair of breeding discis,i have to seperate mine as well into 2 tanks . i tend not to put on the light as long as normal depends on where u have your tank.i have pair of parit fish aswell i got a couple of babies out of that ,i left the female on her own with the eggs sometimes u have to that with the discis
