You could keep a pair of discus in a 35 gallon tank. What do you have in the tank currently and what are the dimensions?

Yes you could maintain a pair in that tank. Pending on the other fish and what they are.

You'll be fine with a pair and maybe some tetras? Good luck!

Hello DarkFin. Discus would love a planted tank I'm sure. They also do well bare bottom especially for breeding purposes.

They do not eat plants, but like Ken said, they enjoy plant cover. It doesn't matter to them if the plants are live or fake, so that's up to you.

Rain water can be very misleading and dangerous for any fish. With all the pollutants and stuff in the air these days, I wouldn't trust it. It'd be easier to get a simple RO/DI filter. Just had to throw that out there.
