Hi Discus experts I got my 2 discus 7 days ago and they are in a 10gal quarintine tank. They are looking healthy,eating properly. When is it safe to add them to my 75gal? I ask because I am planning on getting another 2 soon so will need to put the new ones in the 10gal... Atm I am doing 25% twice daily wc. Is that too much, little.etc? And I feed them 4 times a day with frozen bloodworms, flakes, pellets and ox heart.

To what I've read, you should quarantine them from 4-8 weeks (I know, long time). Once you add any new fish into the quarantine tank the countdown start from the beginning, as new fish could infect fish in quarantine tank with whatever they have on them. If you planning on 2 more, I suggest you wait until this tank is empty, 4 discus, no matter how big in a 10G is too much, especially for such a long period of time. If you purchase all your fish in the same place/breeder that you can trust, it is pretty safe to say that if the fish carrying any diseases, all of his fish would share that disease. As most LFS/breeders use 1 mega filter for all their tanks.
What you did is exactly what I did when i started with discus, because they cost a lot, you want to make sure everything is okay first. I started with 4 and 3 days later I bought another 3 from the same place, I just add them straight in without quarantine (only because they're from the same store), luckily the new fish didn't caught any disease within that 3 days. Now I've learned that the smart thing to do is buy all of them at once. They would acclimate much better if allow to be in large number.

I know they are to small for a 10 gal and thats one of the reasons I only got two for now. The other reasons are they are expensive and the pet shop only had two left. I will leave them in for another few weeks to make sure they dont get sick. But surely if they had ICH or other diseases I would notice within 2 weeks. Whta is the incubation period for most diseases?

My lfs is quite big and is often busy so if I bough some and came back for more 3 days later they would all be sold. They get about 10 each week and by the 4th day they are all sold.

I'd do four weeks. Monitor closely for disease, and even keep a little log book of any worrying behaviour and action taken if any was needed.

If anything was present, then four weeks if enough to eliminate an return of anything.

And try and keep it bare bottomed for easy cleaning etc
